Vacuum Chuck Info:

  • Robust offers two kits to get you set up for vacuum chucking. Components are also available individually.
  • One kit is complete except for a rotary vacuum adapter.
  • If you have a Robust lathe, or any Powermatic 3520 A, B or C, or any 2020, get the kit without built in rotary adapters, and buy the “Vacuum Adapter for Robust AB & S16 and PM 3520 & 2020” rotary adapter separately – you’ll save a few bucks this way.
  • Please note, this adapter may not fit some of the early American made 3520 lathes.
  • If you have a different lathe, you’ll want the kit with individual rotary adapters built into the chucks.
  • Buying kits saves you about 5% over purchasing the items individually.
  • Lathes with an 1-1/4 x 8TPI spindle, and includes everything you need to get going with vacuum chucking, including three chucks with built in adapters. Also, there needs to be at least a .4″ or 10mm through hole in the spindle. Most lathes will have this. This kit includes assembly instructions, an imported 4CFM pump, the complete hardware kit and three chucks made by Robust from solid 6061 aluminum, fitted with built in adapters, sized: 3.25″, 4.5″ and 6″. Buying this kit saves you about 5% over purchasing the items individually. The built in rotary adapters consist of two precision sealed bearings and a stainless steel hose barb that we also machine. You will attach a piece of tubing (included) to the barb that will run through the spindle hole of your lathe. The tube from your vacuum pump will then attach to this tubing.

  • The hardware portion of the kits require minor assembly.
  • The pumps are imported and warranted for one year.
  • Adapters only included in set indicating with adapters
